Guided Garden Walk

1pax --------------------- $35

Duration: 30mins between 7am -7pm

Be led through a 600plus sqft living classroom where permaculture and regenerative soil care come alive. As we move through the garden, I'll show how I apply syntropic-inspired principles - layering plants, planting in succession, and pruning to feed the soil - even in a small space, and explain how waste becomes fertile soil.

Along the way, you’ll taste seasonal edibles and experience firsthand how abundance and healing can be woven into everyday landscapes - and meet the butterflies, frogs, and other little visitors that return when a garden truly comes alive.

Price:

Parent-child* pair --- $40

*child = 1-12 year old

Price:

Off-Peak ----- $188/month

Peak* --------- $288/month

3 sessions/mnth

Frequency:

This is not a classroom with desks. In my 600+ sqft garden, you will work with everyday edibles and with plants most people pull out as weeds. We try things. Some fail. That is normal.

What you will do:
- Read the plants. They show you when they want more sun, more water or more room and what to add to the soil
- Learn to judge soil by feel, sight and smell
- Harvest what is ready that day and take it home

Each session follows what the garden needs. Sowing, weeding, transplanting, pruning, fertilising, watering, improving drainage, or building.

*see below for off-peak and peak hours

2pax --------------------- $50

Stay with us beyond your first 3 sessions, and enjoy $88 off every month for as long as your subscription runs unbroken.

Workshop: Pot-in-Pot Composting Food Waste with Earthworms

Every day you throw away the makings of your own fertiliser. A pot-in-pot bin turns yesterday's peels into rich, living compost - no smell, no mess, in a pot no bigger than a plant pot.

Built for balconies, corridors and anyone who's been told they haven't the space to compost. You'll leave with a working setup, not a set of instructions.

You’ll learn:

  • Build your own pot-in-pot setup - assemble it yourself during the session and take it home ready to use.

  • How to tell living soil from dead soil

  • Mix your own soil blend by hand

  • 10 healthy earthworms to start straight away

  • What to feed and what to keep out

  • Balance the bin

  • Fixing the common problems

Customised individual/small group experience

You choose. Come with your question, your problem plant, or something you've been meaning to try. OR
I curate. Tell me who's coming and what you're after. You'll know the plan before you arrive.

What you can choose
Pick one or two depending on how detailed you want the session to be. It can be a demonstration, hands-on or just questions and answers.

  • Transplanting, air layering, stem cuttings and harvesting - the where, how and why.

  • Making soil from food waste. No chopping, no turning.

  • Pest control, fertilising, watering - the little-known ways. No pesticides are used here.

  • What brings wildlife in and makes them resident garden fellows - earthworms, butterflies, garden lizards and more.

  • Uncommon edibles, and uncommon parts of common plants.

  • Growing food where you live - a corridor, a window ledge, a service yard.

  • Potting up a plant in permaculture-based soil.

  • Starting from seed

  • For young children - hands-on science with soil, twigs and whatever the garden offers. Real science, outdoors.

  • Building permaculture-inspired structures/layouts

  • Or none of the above. Some people just want to walk, sit and ask.

Gathering Leaves and Coconut Husks

Join this hands‑on session to collect fallen leaves and discarded coconut husks across Singapore. These abundant natural materials often clog drains, pile up along paths, or get sent straight to waste - work we usually leave entirely to maintenance staff.

Do something uncommon: take part yourself, see the value in what others overlook, and turn what would be thrown away into precious organic matter. You’ll help keep public spaces tidy and drains clear, while giving these materials new life to nourish and rebuild our soil.

Important details:

  • Meet in the west between Jurong East and Pioneer. The exact location will be informed a day before the session.

  • Bring a fully filled water bottle, comfortable walking shoes, and gloves

Workshop: Art with Nature

Step away from the rush and into the soft rhythm of the garden. We work with materials we recycle from the garden. This art is impermanent: made for this moment, to be admired, then returned to feed the soil when we are done.

You will receive gentle guidance on playing with space, size, layers, and balance - simple ways to help your arrangement feel harmonious, without rigid rules or pressure to be “perfect”.

What you will take away from this session:

  • A gentle reset

  • A new way of seeing

  • Simple, joyful awareness

You only need to bring yourself, and an open heart.

Guided Garden Walk

Be led through a 600‑sqft living classroom where permaculture, regenerative soil care, and syntropic planting come alive. As we move through the garden, I’ll highlight companion planting, show how small spaces nurture biodiversity, and explain how waste becomes fertile soil. Along the way, you’ll taste seasonal herbs and experience firsthand how abundance and healing can be woven into everyday landscapes.

Fully guided 30 minutes
$35 per person
$50 for parent-child pair (1-10 years old)

This isn’t a rigid classroom. In my 600‑sqft garden, you’ll get hands‑on experience with everyday edibles and forgotten plants we often mistake for weeds. Together, we’ll embrace trial, error, and the joy of discovery as you learn to:

  • Observe & Work with Nature — read plant clues and collaborate with our tropical climate.

  • Close the Loop — turn kitchen scraps into enzyme or compost and nourish soil with natural ingredients.

  • Design Creatively — shape edible spaces for balconies, corridors, or backyards that are both productive and beautiful.

Each session opens up to whatever the garden needs that day — sowing seeds, transplanting, fertilising naturally, improving drainage, or building small structures that help plants thrive. You can choose to dive into these learning experiences, or simply let the garden meet you where you are — with quiet observation or peaceful rest.

A Practice of Silence

Stepping into and leaving the garden in silence, this session invites you to simply be present. Without the need for conversation, you are welcome to sit quietly anywhere in the garden, engage in light weeding or observe the butterflies and wildlife as you stroll through the garden. It is a dedicated time to find calm, notice your surroundings, and let the garden restore your inner balance without words.

To preserve the stillness of this private sanctuary, this session is exclusively open to participants who have previously attended The Living Classroom. We kindly ask everyone to respect the quiet atmosphere; LeafingSoil reserves the right to decline entry or request participants to leave if the peace is disrupted.

Please note that the garden is located beside a public road, sidewalk, and car park gantry, so there will be constant ambient sounds. You will be informed before payment if workshops are scheduled during your chosen timeslot, as this may involve some background activity and noise.

Gathering leaves and coconut husks

Join me for an unforgettable sweat‑it‑out session collecting fallen leaves and discarded coconut husks from different parts of Singapore. Over 2 hours, we’ll reclaim these overlooked natural materials — often left to clog drains, pile up along sidewalks, or get thrown away after market sales. By gathering them, we not only keep public spaces cleaner and safer, but also return organic matter to the soil, building fertility and resilience.

$60 per person for 2 hours. Meet at Baba Potter. Bring a fully-filled water bottle and comfortable walking shoes.
